The length of this white monochrome painting (292 ft) makes it impossible to put it on a wall. That impossibility transforms the painting-as-object into sculpture-as-object, questioning the ambiguity of two words often opposed within the sphere of langage and that of its usage.
The object takes the form of a banner, free to receive any message or thought. However, this freedom comes with incapacity to brandish that same message, except if the demonstrator roll the banner and withdrawing from everybody else’s gaze.
La longueur de cette peinture monochrome blanche sur papier (89m) rend impossible un accrochage traditionnel au mur. Cette impossibilité transforme l'objet-peinture en objet-sculpture, questionnant ainsi l’ambiguïté de deux nominations encore souvent opposées dans le langage et les usages.
Comme pour appuyer ce propos, l'objet prend la forme d'une bannière, libre de supporter n'importe quel message ou réflexion. Toutefois, cette même liberté s'accompagne d'une incapacité à brandir ce même message, tel un manifestant, à moins d'enrouler de nouveau la banderole et de le masquer à la vue de tous.
