The sculpture takes the codes of a trophy (golden paint, base, position) that would reward the praticoner of an impractical sport following the immobilization of the club that was used to produce this very trophy. The cheap paint used contrasts  with the luxurious character of the golden reflections, at the same time as the very nature of the object which no longer rewards anything.

We could also mention the stereotypical portrait of the golfer, as well as its links with pop culture: both a symbol of the Wall Street Golden Boy seen through films like American Psycho, and a weapon of choice in zombie movies from on their renewal in the early 2000s.

La sculpture reprend les codes d'un trophée (peinture dorée, socle, position) qui récompenserait un sport impraticable pour le propriétaire suite à l’immobilisation du club qui a servi à réaliser ce même trophée. La peinture, de mauvaise qualité, relativise le caractère luxueux des reflets dorés, en même temps que la nature même de l’objet qui ne récompense plus rien. 

On pourrait mentionner aussi le caractère bourgeois stéréotypé du golf, en même temps que ces liens avec la culture pop : à la fois symbole du Golden Boy de Wall Street vu au travers de films comme American Psycho, et arme de prédilection dans les films de zombies dans leur renouveau au début des années 2000.
